Introduction

A program that focus on the practical aspects of model technician that is needed in today’s Malaysian industries. This session focus on the model of technician in knowledge, skills and attitude. A systematic approoach of working, recording, finding faults and trouble shooting skills which is needed by technicians will be discussed and formatted in this session. Techniques of maintenance and improvement of equipment will be discussed and presented.

Objectives

After attending this session, participants should be able to:

  • Appreciate the Benefit of “Doing the Right Thing the First Time”.
  • Understand the importance and benefits of proper maintenance and improvement of equipment.
  • Establish the necessary model technicians for their organizations.
  • Learn the effective method of trouble shooting, observation, record keeping to ensure relevant results.
  • Understand of productivity losses resulted from poor maintenance and ways to overcome them.
  • Perform the maintenance jobs with more value-added activities.

Training Methodology

This course will be conducted in the form of lecture and group discussions in an informal manner. Participants will be involved during the course through out the course. Participants will also draft out a suitable technician model for their organization at the end of the session.

Resource Person

Mr. Sim Lam Thong has a bachelor degree in Mathematics/Physics and has more than 14 years of vigorous involvement in TQC/TPM activities, problem solving and Management training. He is specialized in quality, TWC, SPC, productivity and TPM training/consultants Industrial Statistical Application and Design of Experiments Training and implementation. Sim has been consulting for many multinationals such as Hewlett Packard, Seagate, ICI Products, Acer and many more.
