SMIDEC
Training Grant at SSTC
The Small
and Medium Industries Development Corporation (SMIDEC) has appointed Sabah
Skills & Technology Centre (SSTC) as its training centre in Sabah
to train SMIs workers in the following areas :
- Technical
- Occupational
Safety and Health
- Business
Management
- Quality
and Productivity
- Information
Technology

Companies registering for the first time at SSTC under this grant, 100%
subsidization will be given to the first five workers OR 1 worker for
5 courses.

Qualifying
Criteria
The qualifying
criteria for SMIs eligible for the 80% sponsorship are as follows :
- SMIs engaged
in manufacturing activities OR services related to manufacturing
- Incorporated
under Companies Act 1965
- At least
51% of the shareholders are Malaysians
- SMIs annual
sales turnover of not more than RM25 million
- Malaysian
workers
Other manufacturing
related services are as follows :-
- Metal forging
- Stamping
- Plating
- Moulds,
tools & die
- Machining
- Industrial
seals and seal materials
- Overhaul,
repair, overhaul or service of aircraft, aircraft components or accessories
or testing and repairing of avionics
- Storage,
treatment and disposal of toxic and hazardous waste
- Powder
metallurgical parts (sintering of metal parts)
- Advanced
composite materials
- Reconditioning
of heavy machinery and equipment
- Heat treatment
- Mould texturing
- Galvanising,
shearing or slitting of metal sheets or other related engineering
services
