Objectives

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Draft and customize an ERT program for their company/workplace.
  • Confidently assess and decide on course of action for the various types of potential emergencies.
  • Understand the concepts of fire safety, chemical spill containment and first aid response.
  • Conduct safety inspection. audits and recommend corrective actions.
  • Relate the learning experience back to their workplace.

Training Methodology

Theory presentation, group discussions, hands-on practical experience.

Safety & health committee members, safety & health officers/engineers, facilities engineers, occupational health nurses involved in emergency response team management.

Resource Person

Mah Ting Keong holds a degree in Bachelors of Sciences in Chemical Engineering from the University of Glamorgan, UK. He has worked over 17 years in the environmental, health & safety field in Malaysia and United Kingdom. Ting Keong is a registered competent person under the Factory & Machine Regulations 1989 and is also a registered Safety & Health officer under the OSHA Regulations 1997. He has presented many papers at the Safety & Health conferences on OSHA 1994 and ISO 14000 amongst others.
