Introduction

Risk of fire is constantly present irrespective of type of business. Studies indicate that that a basic understanding of types of fire and knowledge on first aid on fire fighting including how to manage a fire before the fire brigade arrives has helped safe millions in danger to property besides saving lives.

Course Duration

2 Days.

Objectives

After the course, participant will return to their jobs understanding:

  • The Fire Triangle
  • Eliminating the causes of fire
  • Type Class A, B, C, D fires
  • Correct extinguishers to use and advised placement of extinguishers according to risk of fire
  • How to assess fire risks in factories and high-rise buildings
  • How to eliminate or lower fire risk at their workplace
  • Plan, organize and do procedures for emergency response team
  • Organize evacuation of employees to safety and manage the assembly points
  • Select safe assembly points

Training Methodology

The program will be conducted in the form of lecture inter-spaced with activities, role play, case study and group work.

Resource Person

Mr. Sean Balakrishnen has a Masters degree in Human Resource Management. His professional experiences includes designing, developing and conducting training on various human resource development and management courses and occupational safety, health and environment courses for the corporate sector and conducting programs for many multinational companies. Sean has more than 25 years of Human Resource Management, Occupational Safety & Security experience both in public and private sectors. Currently Sean is the management consultant for Seccon Management Consultancy.
