Introduction

Employee grievances are unavoidable in any organizations. An effective organization will have the foresight to establish and implement Grievances Procedures to meet the needs of the employees. Undoubtedly, people is one of the most valuable asset in every organization. Thus, positive efforts should be made to respond to the problems raised by the employees, which may sometimes bring surprisingly profitable returns to organizations.

Objectives

This program is designed to help the participants achieve the following objectives:

Understand the concept of grievances and the possible causes and consequences.
Establish and implement Grievance Procedures for their organizations based on a suggested model.
Acquire practical knowledge and skills for the handling and resolving of employee grievances, including counseling skills.
Able to maintain relevant records for proper follow-up of grievance cases.
Able to work together with trade unions on the basis of collective agreement to resolve employee grievances.

Resource Person

Chong Siaw Fung has more than 10 years experience in education, training and development. He has been awarded to the Bachelor Degree of Science with Education (1st class honours) by the University of Malaya. He has a profound understanding of human's learning needs and the methodology to fulfill them. Chong is a trained instructional designer. Chong has the experience of working with a Malaysian consulting firm providing training services in personal development, leadership, motivation and team-building, etc. He has also worked in various multinational companies.
