    1. Understand and use the concept of equality.
    2. Understand and use the concept of linear equations in one unknown.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  1. State the relationship between two quantities by using the symbols '=' or '≠'
  2. Recognise linear algebraic terms
  3. Recognise linear algebraic expressions
  4. Determine if a given equation is:

         a)  a linear equation
         b) a linear equation in one unknown.
v.      Write linear equation in one unknown for given statements and 
         vice versa
