All parts of Malaysia are in 8 hours ahead of GMT all year around.
Electricity is available except some isolated villages. The electric system is
240-volt 50-hertz. For those with equipment that operates on a different system,
the adapters are often available, but it is better to bring your own.
Electricity is provided around the clock in Kinabalu Park HQ except Sayap and
Serinsim, where generators are switched on for a few hours in the morning and
evening.
Water supply from hotels in Kota Kinabalu is generally safe to drink, but in the
park visitors are best advised to boil it before drinking. In each shelter there
are untreated mountain water supplies. For health safety, the visitors could
bring some iodine salts to mix with water to kill the bacteria. It is better if
you bring a bottled mineral water which maybe causes extra weight during
climbing. In Laban Rata Resthouse, the restaurant will provide boiled water. |
