Accommodation

For a proper appreciation of Kinabalu it is essential to spend at least c couple of nights in the park, preferably more. A variety of accommodation is available at Park HQ, Poring and Mesilau as well as Panar Laban. You can choose from a range of chalets, cabins and lodges sleeping anything from 2 to 10 people, or for economy stay in the hostels. Camping is only an option at Poring, Serinsim and Sayap. For the latter two, visitors should bring their own tents since these cannot be hired in the park except at Poring.

There are two restaurants at Park HQ, Poring and Mesilau and Panar Laban. At Poring food is available at roadside stalls just outside the park. For those who prefer to do it by themselves, self-catering is possible in the park. You should buy most of your food before departure as there is more variety in town. Basic supplies are also available at Kundasang and Ranau (for Mesilau and Poring), at Kota Belud (for Sayap) and at Kota Marudu (for Serinsim).
