Your fingers let you know that ice is cold and teddy bears are soft. Your toes can feel the warm summer grass or hard pavement. 

Our skin is the biggest organ that we have. Its main job is to
keep our insides in, but it is also what we use to touch things.
 
Some things that we touch are:

Can you feel which objects are rough ? Which objects are smooth ?

Wet Dry

Some objects are hot and some objects are cold. Watch out! Be careful when touching hot things.

Teaching point
Ask pupils which part of their body they can use to feel things. Tell them that skin covers our whole body. This is why we can feel with all parts of our body.  Ask pupils to find out if this is true.  ( They can use a feather to touch one another on various parts of the arms. )
