As our group was thinking of what topic to be created for the homepage, we were instructed to establish a promotion topic on SABAH and will be presented in 2 languages -English & Native language. We then came to a conclusion of the most appropriate topic -Traditional Medicine, as we know there is not any homepage on traditional medicine done locally. We would like to promote our country as well as Sabah to others through this homepage. When this is launched over the Internet, the whole world can access to it and get to know more about Sabah. The tradition inherited from the native ancestors should be well-preserved and learned by their next generation. Apart from learning usefulness of traditional, we are able to learn other values such as the natives culture and lifestyle. The materials and information we collected are mostly from magazines and books found in the library. Besides we gathered information from museum and archive. As a whole, our aim is to generate an integrated information kiosk on traditional medicine that can be read or access by millions of people around the world through the net. The traditional medicine introduced in the homepage is explained with the name of the herbs used and the dosage to be prepared. We developed a user-friendly interface with pictorial notation to give user or visitor an easier interaction with it. In our homepage, we categorized the medicine according to illnesses occurred in different parts of the body. Basically, there are 8 categories, i.e head, respiratory system, liver, stomach etc. Developing this homepage, we apply HTML & JavaScript languages. Apart from that, software like notepad, Internet Explorer, Mapedit, Paintbrush, Gif Contruction set and scanner to accomplish our task. Much effort had been we put into making this homepage to be as effective and attractive as possible.
